Terms of Use

By creating an account or otherwise using Support Groups (the “Site” or “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after the change means you accept the updated terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

You represent that the information you provide at sign-up is accurate and that you’ll keep it up to date.

You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Don’t share your credentials, and don’t use anyone else’s account. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password and let us know right away.

Support Groups is meant to be a calm, safe space. When you post, comment, or send messages, you agree not to share content that is:

• hateful, threatening, harassing, or abusive;
• defamatory, libelous, or invasive of another person’s privacy;
• obscene, pornographic, or gratuitously violent;
• infringing on someone else’s intellectual property or other rights;
• spam, chain letters, or unsolicited advertising;
• malware, viruses, or anything designed to disrupt the Service or other users’ devices;
• identity theft — impersonating another person or misrepresenting your affiliation with anyone;
• unlawful under any applicable local, national, or international law.

You also agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, harvest information about other users without their consent, or interfere with anyone else’s use of the Site.

You keep ownership of the content you post. By posting it, you grant Support Groups a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute it as needed to operate and improve the Service (for example, to show your post to other members in your groups).

You’re responsible for what you post. Don’t share information you don’t have the right to share, and remember that anything you post in a group or public area may be seen by other members.

If you see something that breaks these rules, use the Report option on any post, comment, or message. Moderators review reports and may remove content, warn a user, suspend an account, or ban repeat offenders — at our discretion, without prior notice.

We do our best but we don’t pre-screen every post, and we can’t guarantee accuracy or safety of content posted by others.

Support Groups is a peer-support community. Anything posted here — including by people who identify as professionals — is offered for informational and personal support purposes only. It is not a substitute for advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified doctor, therapist, or crisis service.

If you may be in danger, if you’re thinking about suicide, or if you or someone else needs urgent care, please call your local emergency number now.

Some pages may link to external websites or resources. We include these for convenience — a link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, security, and accuracy.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Support Groups and the people who run it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of your use of — or inability to use — the Service, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility of such damages.

You use the Service at your own risk. You’re responsible for deciding whether any information you find here is right for your situation.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if you breach these terms or if we believe your behavior harms other members or the community. You can also stop using the Service or delete your account at any time from Settings.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time as the Service evolves. We’ll do our best to give notice of significant changes, but we’re not obligated to keep any particular feature available.
